Anne Milligan, CALT
Certified Academic Language Therapist
Anne is a Certified Academic Language Therapist with over 13 years of experience working with students with dyslexia and other language-based learning differences. She provides individualized, Orton-Gillingham based instruction and is trained in an intensive, structured, literacy curriculum called Basic Language Skills (BLS). Additionally, Anne has with additional training and certification in Take Flight- a comprehensive curriculum created for students with Dyslexia and other reading disorders.
Anne completed her Academic Language Therapy training through the renowned Rawson Saunders Institute in Austin, Texas, and went on to serve as a therapist at Rawson Saunders School for six years. Anne’s intensive training was completed over two years and included over 200 hours of coursework, more than 700 supervised teaching hours, and a national certification exam.
Her approach is both structured and relational, balancing explicit, systematic instruction with a warm, supportive environment where students can build confidence alongside skill. Instruction is guided by ongoing assessment and progress monitoring, allowing her to meet each student where they are and support meaningful, lasting growth.
In addition to her professional experience, Anne brings a personal understanding to her work as the parent of a child with dyslexia. She values strong partnerships with families and believes that connection and consistency are key to student success.
Outside of her work, Anne enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, watching cooking shows, and cheering on all Boston professional sports teams, especially the New England Patriots and the Boston Celtics. She also enjoys visiting the Boston coast in the summer, where she grew up, and caring for her two rescue pets, Tatum (cat) and Roscoe (dog).
