Jill Palmer M. S. CCC-SLP
Jill Palmer CCC SLP earned her Bachelor of Science in Communication Disorders from Florida State University. She began her career as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant, gaining experience in both private practice and public-school settings. Driven to further her expertise, she earned her Master of Education in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Montevallo in Alabama. During graduate school, she was awarded a Scottish Rite Fellowship, allowing her to work extensively with pediatric clients while serving as a classroom teacher in the University’s residential program for children with significant Speech and Language needs. She worked as a public school-based Speech-Language Pathologist in Birmingham, AL, before relocating to Atlanta, GA, where she worked at a private practice. Jill provided Speech-Language services in two public schools and became deeply interested in Dyslexia after learning about a new program at her own children’s private school. To join the school’s Dyslexia team, she completed an intensive Orton-Gillingham training course taught by a Fellow of the Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators. Jill is also trained in the Lindamood Bell Visualizing and Verbalizing Reading Comprehension Program. For the past decade, Jill has played a vital role as a lead teacher in a class of students diagnosed with Dyslexia. Jill utilized her expertise in Speech-Language Pathology to deliver language and articulation therapy to students across the school. Jill is passionate about helping children build the skills and confidence they need to succeed in all aspects of receptive and expressive communication and literacy. When not at The Language Group office, Jill loves to spend time with her family, enjoys reading fiction and non-fiction and trying new amazing restaurants in the Atlanta area.
